The Irish Architecture Foundation invites expression of interest from individuals to take part in our inaugural Emerging Architecture Writers programme in 2021.
This new programme aims to offer the opportunity for students and recent graduates to engage with and participate in workshops with professional architecture writers and critics.
We are seeking a diverse group of participants to take part in this programme which will offer mentorship, group resources and a paid publication opportunity to write a review of our upcoming architecture exhibition Momentum, which takes place from Friday 9 July – Sunday 29 August 2021 at our headquarters located at 15 Bachelors Walk, Dublin 1.
Further to this, we hope to engage with our panel of Emerging Architecture Writers (EAW) throughout the year to offer further publication opportunities.
Programme Outline:
The Emerging Architecture Writers Programme is a new initiative delivered by the Irish Architecture Foundation which aims to promote new voices in the area of architecture writing.
The programme will run across a maximum period of 6 weeks in June and July 2021 and the selected candidates will be expected to attend 1 public seminar, 1 public workshop and 2 further workshops specific to the EAW programme. All seminars and workshops will be delivered via live, virtual means. The EAW programme will run alongside our International Summer School – click here to find out more.
Up to 3 candidates will be selected to take part in 1-2 round table discussions to critique and gain further coaching for their reviews for the Momentum exhibition, prior to print publication in Architecture Ireland and on the Irish Architecture Foundation’s website. This is a paid opportunity and each of the final selected candidates will receive a stipend for their published written review.
