IAF Members: The Pearse Museum Folly Tour

Join the IAF and Brian Crowley for a special IAF members event: The Pearse Museum Folly Tour, Saturday 19 November at 12noon.

The Pearse museum is the former home and school of Patrick Pearse, the leader of the 1916 Rising. It includes the original school museum and gallery, which contains many original artworks from the school including pieces by Jack Yeats, Casimir Markievicz, Beatrice Elvery, Patrick Tuohy and William Pearse. Brian Crowley will also lead a unique guided tour of St. Enda’s Park’s very significant collection of late 18th – early 19th century follies. Many are inspired by ancient Irish field monuments and include an ogham stone, dolmen and faux ecclesiastical ruins. There is also a hermit’s cave and a lodge built as a miniature five-pointed star-shaped fort with access given to their interiors, neither of which are normally open to the public.

Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.

If you would like to attend please email shauna@architecturefoundation.ie
