2023 Programme Placemaking Reimagine

Watch back: Reimagine Session on Trauma Informed Placemaking

14.06.23

This Session provides a rare opportunity to hear from leading voices in trauma informed placemaking internationally.

This online Reimagine Session was held on 17 May 2023 and guest curated by the Trauma Informed Placemaking project founders, Dr Anita Mckeown and Dr Cara Courage.

The panel featured five members of a global cohort of creative and research practitioners in this emerging and important field. Dr Aisling Rusk, Prof. Karen Till with Dr Michal Huss, Brian Jay De Lima Ambulo, and Jeff Poulin discussed projects from Ireland to the Philippines on topics ranging from working in post-disaster places to working with young people.

This event was a rare opportunity for deeper discussion into the role and responsibilities of placemaking as a practice which can heal as well as amplify trauma.

All speakers have contributed to the Trauma Informed Placemaking textbook forthcoming from Routledge, where you can read more about this important topic.
