RIAI Lecture: Johan Celsing Arkitektkontor, Cork

Johan Celsing is the lead architect and principal of Johan Celsing Arkitektkontor. Celsing was born in Stockholm where he is professor of Advanced Design at the School of Architecture at the Royal institute of Technology. He has been invited as critic and lecturer to numerous international universities and architecture schools such as London Met, Madrid ETSAM, Harvard GSD, Lima Univ. Catolica, Academ. Mendrisio.

The University College of Teachers 2001 in Stockholm, Millesgården Art Gallery 1999, the Museum of Sketches 2004, the Bonnier Building and Art Gallery 2006, the Church at Årsta 2011 and the Crematorium at the Woodland Cemetery in Stockholm 2013 have established Celsing as an architect of international renown for his design sensibility, acute visual awareness and as an architect of timeless well crafted buildings.

The practice has been nominated for the Mies Van der Rohe Award on several occasions and has been the recipient of the Swedish Kasper Salin Award, Sweden’s premier award in architecture.
