Earlier this year the IAF advertised Architecture Connects, in collaboration with Arts in Junior Cycle, an opportunity for teachers of all subject disciplines to engage in a series of online community of practice workshops with professional architects. The initiative began on 4 February and now involves 17 architects and 70 teachers from diverse subject areas, from all over Ireland.

Over the course of 6 online sessions teachers will work with an architect to explore and experience the design process  through one of the following themes: Home, Heritage, Public Space, Sustainability or Universal Design. The small group setting allows teachers to collaborate and design in a safe environment, while also providing the opportunity for self-directed learning and exploration. A reflection event for all participants is planned for Thursday 6th May 2021.
