Unbuilt.ie is live!

29.02.24

IAF House on Bachelors Walk was buzzing last evening for the launch of the Unbuilt.ie website!

Congratulations to Róisín Cahill and Jessica Keller, Unbuilt founders and former IAF Graduate Panel members. They have achieved much on their project so far – from being awarded funding through the Engaging with Architecture Scheme from the The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, through to curating 45 contributions (and counting!), to finally launching the public database this week. It was wonderful to come together to showcase and celebrate the creativity, expertise, and ambition of young architects whose unrealised final-year designs were on display on our walls and are now publicly available on unbuilt.ie.

Though Unbuilt is a project independent of the IAF, we are however very proud that the seeds for the project grew out of connections, ideas, and aspirations nurtured by our Graduate Panel. The panel brought together emerging architecture graduates for networking and creative development over the last two years.

This is only the beginning. As a resource organisation for architecture, the IAF is committed to making opportunities for creative development and risk, particularly among graduate architects, embarking on their careers in architecture. The IAF will be announcing more supports for this group in 2024, so subscribe to the IAF newsletter to be among the first to know.

We look forward to seeing Unbuilt go from strength to strength. Visit their site, and if you have made a final-year architecture thesis on the island of Ireland, whether recently or years ago, they are happy to have the work uploaded.
