But lately we have found that when offering tickets free of charge, a great number of people book and some don’t turn up, meaning many more who are free to come along, don’t get their chance.

With this in mind, we are trialling a non-attendance fee. What this means is that when you book a free ticket for IAF events, you will be asked to provide credit or debit card details via a secure payment processor (Stripe). Don’t worry we won’t take payment at this point, however, if you forget to cancel by emailing bookings@architecturefoundation.ie 48 hours prior to the event you will then be charged a €5 fee per ticket.

To be clear, your card will not be charged when booking, but stored securely with our payment processor (Stripe). On validating your attendance at the event, we will promptly discard your card details. If you do not attend an event and are charged a non-attendance fee, as a non-profit organisation the IAF will put this income back into delivering our programme of talks, tours and more.
