This is the third event in an increasingly multidisciplinary series that aims to bring together local, national and international practitioners, researchers and teachers engaged in rural life and interested in its future. Spread over 4 days (June 6th to 9th 2016) there will be plenary sessions, speakers/ respondents, meals and walks. By gathering together a range of experience, immersing ourselves in place, walking, talking, looking and listening, and spending time each day in debate, we hope to encourage new dialogues between individuals and across disciplines.
Speakers include Rural Studio, Pieter Versteegh, O’Donnell+Tuomey, Aine Macken-Walsche (Teagasc), Connemara West, Adam Sutherland (Grizedale Arts), Lisa Fingleton, Hollie Kearns & Rosie Lynch (Nimble Spaces/Callan Workhouse Union)… and more.
Organisers of the event are Sophia Meeres (landscape architect, academic UCD – Dublin), Deirdre O’Mahony (artist, teacher, academic at GMIT – Galway, and writer) and Dominic Stevens (architect, academic at DIT – Dublin, and writer.
