The Story of Craftitecture

For Open House Dublin 2011 ‘Cruth Curach’, a stunning temporary pavilion, was sited in Merrion Square as a venue for talks and events. This pavilion was the winning design from Craftitecture: a competition run by the Irish Architecture Foundation and the Crafts Council of Ireland to celebrate the Year of Craft on the Island of Ireland – designed by Bucholz McEvoy Architects and Jim & Conall Horgan of the Galway School of Boatbuilding.

Jim Horgan and Merritt Bucholz discuss the process of designing and building the pavilion – originally designed for use at Electric Picnic – within the pavilion itself.
