Can Architecture Save the World?

Open Debate on Thursday 8 October 2009 in Liberty Hall Dublin.

Open Debate was presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation as part of Open House Dublin 2009, Ireland’s largest architecture event annually.

Chaired by Dr. John Bowman, historian and broadcaster, the deliberately provocative title – Can Architecture Save the World – was chosen to discuss the current state of architecture and its effects on the environment and on communities.

The debate covered ethics, sustainable living and revealed the influence of design on the well-being of communities, on the health of our culture and on how it effects on our world.
