Describing Architecture is an annual exhibition exploring architectural representation and its role in designing and creating built space.
Representation is integral to the architectural design process, yet rarely discussed or exhibited outside of the architectural profession. The exhibition seeks to give visitors an insight into the practice of architecture, and related arts that consider buildings and built space.
The exhibition provides a platform for innovative and creative pieces of work across a wide range of media – drawing, photography, model and film – and from a broad spectrum of participants.
The exhibition is organised and curated by Antóin Doyle and Alice Clancy, with support from the Architectural Association of Ireland.
In 2013, the exhibition is part-funded by the the Arts Council under the Engaging with Architecture Scheme 2013 and the venue provided with thanks to the Irish Georgian Society.
