Exhibition
In this week long exhibition Peter McVerry Trust will showcase our work to reuse Ireland’s built heritage. The reuse of vacant or derelict buildings must be part of the solution to the housing and homeless crisis. This unique event will bring together a photography exhibition, video portraits of those housed in the reused buildings, empty homes walking tours and discussions on how we can improve our response to empty buildings.
Walking Tours
Peter McVerry Trust will organise a daily walking tour departing at 1pm from the Irish Architecture Foundation at 15 Bachelors Walk, Dublin 1. The tour will bring people through Dublin’s north inner city and tell the story behind just some of the empty buildings that could be returned to use in the area and our efforts to do just that.
Evening Panel Discussion
On Thursday 23rd August, a special panel discussion will take place on theme of Reusing Ireland’s Built Heritage this event will begin at 6pm.
The discussion will be moderated by Lois Kapila Managing Editor & Co-Founder of the Dublin Inquirer with panellists Dr Philip Crowe, Co-Founder Reusing Dublin & Space Engagers, Alison Harvey, Planning Officer & Programme Manager, Heritage Council and Francis Doherty, Head of Communications at Peter McVerry Trust.
