They design landscapes, buildings, interiors and furniture and also teach and write about the built environment. Based in London for six years, they worked for a number of award winning practices including Eric Parry Architects and Edward Cullinan Architects. They then returned to Ireland and converted 8 Richmond Place, Rathmines into their home and offices. They recently supported a community led project to create a park on Cork Street. They will design a building beside the park that will house a co-operative market. They also work on various residential projects and conservation works.

Douglas is a past President of the Architectural Association of Ireland. While AAI President he created the AAI Mentoring Forum, the Maurice Craig Student Award and co-created the first Describing Architecture exhibition. So much, so young!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Pecha Kucha format, here it is in a nutshell: speakers get 20 slides, and 20 seconds to explain each. This is no excuse to talk through the technicalities of their work, but to provoke us into thinking about themes and issues that effect us all.
