A Space for Learning in Letterkenny
‘SCHOOLYARD’, Landscape Design for 3 City Schools exhibition opens at darcspace, 26 North Great George’s Street, Dublin 1 at 6.30pm, Wednesday February 1st 2012
Students from the UCD Department of Landscape Architecture, working with three Dublin schools, designed landscape projects for the school grounds. The schools; Mount Carmel Secondary School, Belvedere College and O’Connell Secondary School, are all in the city-centre and presented a challenge as outdoor space was limited.
School environments bear a strong and lasting influence on their pupils’ daily life. The landscape students have enjoyed the opportunities provided by the project, especially in liaising with the stakeholders, in this case the staff and pupils in each school. The results of their work are being exhibited from 1st to the 19th February 2012.
