Places & Responses are two site-specific concerts by Dublin Sound Lab, contextualising music performance in the urban environment. In both concerts five wind players lead the audience on an interactive navigation through Dublin.

3 Places Dublin by Austrian composer Peter Ablinger is a new work for three unique Dublin spaces, visited by audience and musicians walking together through the city. Ablinger has over four decades established a reputation as one of the most innovative and poetic composers in contemporary music.

Responses is a collaborative performance for five wind players, devised by Dublin composers Piaras Hoban, Gráinne Mulvey, Fergal Dowling and Rob Canning. Inspired by Ablinger’s work, Responses features interactive electronics, mobile performers and mobile audience, performed throughout the four levels of Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Atrium.

The IAF is delighted to partner with Dublin Sound Lab to present these specially devised concerts exploring the connection between music and architecture, as part of Tiger Dublin Fringe.
