The Simon Communities of Ireland and the RIAI have once again joined forces for the annual fundraising initiative “Simon Open Door” – whereby participating RIAI Members around Ireland will open their offices on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May, to give members of the public an hour’s consultation with an Architect in return for a donation to Simon of €50.

Simon Open Door is a simple yet fantastic scheme. It benefits both the Simon Communities of Ireland and members of the public. Anyone can sign up and, in return for your donation, receive advice on a range of issues such as: extending your home, making the most of your apartment, enhancing energy efficiency to reduce bills, maximising natural light, storage tips, even building a new home and much more.

2012 will be the eighth year that the Simon Communities of Ireland has been in partnership with the RIAI. Over the course of this partnership, almost €265,000 has been raised for the Simon Communities of Ireland through the Simon Open Door initiative. Every single cent raised goes towards the work of the Simon Communities of Ireland.

Remember: The more information you can bring to your Architect on the day, the more you will get out of your consultation, so we recommend that before you meet with your Architect you consider all of the information in the “What to remember” section above.

* All consultations will be held in your chosen Architects practice unless otherwise stated on your confirmation booking email.
* We may have to add a charge of €15.00, if you wish to swap your appointment once it has been booked, so please book carefully.
* Architects cannot be asked to comment on other Architect or Engineer’s work.
