Learning Open Call

2015 National Architects in Schools Initiative: Call for Architects

Our National Architects in Schools Initiative gives students first-hand experience of architecture and design with the professional.

The IAF has worked with six Education Centres to deliver this two-year initiative, linking with schools in the areas of Cork, Donegal, Drumcondra, Waterford, Limerick and Mayo and the feedback has been great.

“Working with a professional architect was a brilliant experience and we learned a lot of interesting new things.” Student, Grace Lavelle, Crana College

Architects will collaborate with nominated teachers on the planning and delivery of workshops. Architects will deliver a series of workshops/classes that engage students in the architecture design process and enhance student awareness of architecture. Architects will attend planning and training meetings as outlined in “Support and Training” Architects will maintain communications with the IAF and Education Centres as required. Architects will complete project and Evaluation Report (template to be provided) prior to drawing down payment.

Applications are now welcomed from architects and architecture graduates. More information download this PDF. Application form available HERE. For anything else email Rebecca Blake education@architecturefoundation.ie. Deadline for applications is October 23 2015.

The National Architects in Schools Initiative is co-funded by the Arts Council, Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht under the Government Policy on Architecture implementation programme 2013.
