Members become Friends at IAF & other big news

05.06.19

After a break to assess the friends programme, we’re back with a new name, a bumper summer of friends tours for you to join, finally a new gift for friends and some updates.

We’ve been quiet here on the members front but there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes.

Name change

We’ve changed the name of the ‘Members’ programme to ‘Friends’. We’ve always been pals but now lets be ‘Friends’ so now whenever you see something about the Friends programme we’re talking about our members.

JoinIt

We’re also streamlining a lot of our previously manual systems, we’ve got a lovely new CRM system so you may start to get some communications from us that look a little different. This is because we’re using JoinIt to help automate a few bits and pieces that previously needed to be set up manually. Hopefully this is going to free up time to coordinate tours, newsletters and all that jazz  but if you have any questions feel free to get in touch on 01 874 7200 or communications@architecturefoundation.ie. We’ve done a lot of work and there’s more to do but we’ll keep you updated.

New Friend’s Gift ready to send

Our new Friend’s gift is here. After the success of Alex Synge‘s fantabulous manhole covers and Fuchsia McCree‘s epic cityscape we’ve gone for a cool specially design poster by photographer Shane Lynam. If you renewed but got no gift you should be getting one soon.

June Friends Only Tours

This summer we’re planning a bumper crop of tours, visits, exhibitions and hopefully a few architectural gems just for our members.

To kick things off we’ve got 3 June opportunities to join us off the bat:

Saturday, 8 June – Steven Holl is giving a presentation in UCD

Thursday, 13 June – North Docklands Walking Tour with Pauline Byrne

Wednesday, 19 June – TBG&S ‘staring forms’ guided tour with Michael Hill

These tours are now open for booking through the links but don’t forget we’re implementing our non-attendance fee. In short we’re hoping that a small charge for no shows will mean that spaces are booked and taken by people who will turn up but click the link for the full details and call with questions.

July Friends Only Tours

We know you don’t like short notice or the fact that the tours book up immediately so we’re trying to give a little more notice. We’ve got some excellent tours lined up for July. These include a tour of Monkstown Village Project; Darc Space; 6 Seville Place Casino Marino and the Marion Mahony Griffin exhibition. These tours will go live for booking later this month but we’ll give you plenty of notice.
