2025 Programme Announcement Learning Opportunity

Announcing the new LINA Open Call

20.05.25

The fourth annual LINA Open Call is now receiving applications.

LINA, the European architecture platform, has now launched its 4th annual open call. The Irish Architecture Foundation is one of 34 LINA member organisations across 28 countries. Collectively, through LINA, we support and promote emerging thinkers and creative practitioners working at the intersection of architecture and spatial practice.

LINA opportunities

This open call offers emerging creatives and practitioners the opportunity to connect with LINA member organisations across Europe for potential collaborations in 2025 and 2026. The LINA Architecture Programme includes a range of activities and programmes carried out by member organisations: each is looking to collaborate with one or more emerging practitioners, called LINA Fellows. The modes of collaboration vary widely: from participating in residencies and summer schools, mentoring workshops, holding lectures, developing interventions, designing exhibitions, researching, writing, editing and participating in talks and roundtables. During 2025 and 2026, around 90 small-scale collaboration opportunities and activities will be organised as part of the LINA Architecture Programme, carried out by LINA members. Looking for inspiration? You can find a catalogue of previous collaborations on the LINA website.

LINA Forum

After this open call, 20 applicants (individuals or groups) will be selected as Spotlight LINA Fellows to attend the LINA Forum in Pristina, Kosovo, in November 2025, to create connections and initiate potential collaborations. One representative from each will be provided with accommodation and will be reimbursed for their travel (up to €350) to attend the LINA Forum. They will receive promotional photo and video portraits and promotion on the platform’s communication channels.

All applicants (even if not selected as Spotlight LINA Fellows) are eligible to collaborate in the LINA Architecture Programme activities with member organisations throughout the upcoming year. Applicants who are selected to collaborate will be called LINA Fellows.

Work within the LINA Architecture Programme is regulated through contracts that LINA Fellows sign with LINA members. The LINA team will support members and Fellows throughout the process. Contracts cover honoraria / fees and expenses and define the amount of work undertaken by LINA Fellows.

How to apply

You can apply for this open call via the central LINA platform: Open Call Information and Application Form.

Applications are welcome from individuals or teams. You will be asked to provide a short outline of your proposal (an idea, initiative, framework, proposal, publication, practice, or concept), up to 5 images, and a short biography. You can select up to 5 LINA member organisations to indicate your interest and as a starting point for potential collaborations. Modes of collaboration including leading workshops, writing, researching and much more.

Please note that Irish applicants are encouraged to select member organisations and activities in other countries, as LINA supports international exchange and collaboration.

About LINA

LINA, the European architecture platform, is a community of people working towards a united creative vision – we find common ground in our inclusive values. The network is a creative flow of co-creation, collaboration, and mentoring, both among member organisations and in tandem with emerging creatives. Being part of LINA means being part of an experience in which we create and curate relationships, and bring people together with plan and ambition.

As a network of organisations we work at the intersection of architecture and other fields related to spatial culture, and as a platform, we support and promote emerging thinkers and practitioners. Our collective goal is to steer design and building processes towards regenerative practices and principles of de-growth.

A growing alliance of museums, universities, research networks, foundations, triennials, biennials, and other European and Mediterranean organisations — LINA members — carries out a series of events taking place all over Europe. The programme is coordinated by the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana and co-funded by Creative Europe.
