Grafton Architects win competition for The New Town House Building for Kingston University

06.12.13

The project is the latest phase in the university’s development of its Penrhyn Road campus on a key gateway to Kingston town centre. The New Town House Building will include both administrative and teaching functions along with a learning resources centre and auditorium.

Director of estates delivery Sean Woulfe said Grafton emerged as the winner of the RIBA competition from a very strong shortlist.

“Grafton have an international reputation for designing thoughtful, beautifully detailed buildings in the higher education sector and the university is excited to be working with them on the first Grafton building in London,” he said.

The other finalists were O’Donnell & Tuomey, Bennetts Associates, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Haworth Tompkins.
