Global Irish Design Challenge [GIDC] was launched in 2015 to celebrate of Irish design innovation and activate a global network of talent across Ireland and extending worldwide. Representing the best of Irish design innovation in every form 80 selected entries will be showcased in a high-profile Global Irish Design Challenge exhibition at the Coach House in Dublin Castle opening on June 15th, continuing until August 27th 2016.
The exhibition contains many more examples of projects and concepts that have the potential to revolutionise the way we live. It creates a platform for game-changing Irish design innovation, while activating and connecting a broad global network of Irish design talent. The Global Irish Design Challenge provides a unique insight into the impact that design and innovation has on shaping and improving the way that we live and interact.
Irish Design 2015 sought to actively engage communities to explore how design can help people live in a more sustainable way, and foster new employment opportunities by embedding design into business and daily life.
ID2015 was convened by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, in collaboration with partner organisations on behalf of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, theDepartment of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Enterprise Ireland.
