Since its foundation in 2005, the IAF has worked with communities of place and interest in the capital city and beyond to explore issues and affect change in the built environment. Key to this work, is the recognition of and celebration of the role of architecture in placemaking.

Reimagine, a national programme for co-design and placemaking, matches architects with local partners, enabling communities to play an active role in the development of their neighbourhoods, streetscapes, parks, villages and towns. This programme has connected with communities across Ireland, including in Dundrum, Tallaght, Kilrush, Kells, Mohill, Letterkenny, Loughrea. As the Reimagine programme moves into a new, exciting phase, find out about how you can take part and lead creative change in your community, neighbourhood, town, or village.

In 2021, Reimagine will be inviting more communities to take part in this programme, and expanding the training and support it provides to those working in this area, including community led placemaking. Reimagine Sessions, a new programme of professional development and training events, will be announced, as well as exciting opportunities for architectural and spatial professionals.

The Reimagine project has been supported by Creative Ireland Programme’s National Creativity Fund.
