The Community Fund for Ireland and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are now inviting applications for the 2021 round of Circular Economy Open Grants.
The objective of the 2021 Circular Economy/Sustainability Strand is to support organisations working within this space to deliver projects/activities that will combat excess consumption and reduce waste in communities across Ireland by either:
Grants are available under two Strands:
Strand 1: Building Awareness
Grants of up to €3,000 to support organisations to design and implement innovative online campaigns which aim to increase awareness of the concept of ‘circular economy’ and its impact on everyday life. Campaigns can be local or national and collaborative projects are welcome and encouraged. Such projects will be given priority during assessment. For a project to be considered as collaborative it must be a coming together of two or more organisations that will lead to an increased or ‘outsized’ social impact.
Strand 2: Sustaining Sustainability
Grants of up to €10,000 to support organisations working within the ‘circular economy/sustainability’ space to continue/adapt existing work, or develop new initiatives, ensuring that Ireland’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals continues despite challenges posed by Covid-19. This call is open for projects addressing circular economy. When applying to Circular Economy Strand 2, priority will be given for initiatives focussed on the following identified priorities:
