The IAF’s National Architects in Schools Initiative places architects and architectural graduates in 30 schools across the country to guide 14-16 year old students through a hands-on design process.
Participants learn about how to research, design and communicate architectural ideas through workshops, excursions, drawing, model making, film, photography and more, always reimagining the spaces around them and sometimes even affecting change in their school environments.
This year’s projects, taking place in 16 counties around Ireland, were exhibited in Waterford city’s new public space, the Apple Market as part of Waterford Festival of Architecture.
