What If Dublin

14.03.15-17.03.15

What If Dublin re-engaged with its disused spaces? What if Dublin engaged with its many vacant sites within the city? What if Dublin replaced our carparks with more engaging spaces? What if Dublin used the Liffey for other than just traffic?

What If Dublin re-engaged with its disused spaces? What if Dublin engaged with its many vacant sites within the city? What if Dublin replaced our carparks with more engaging spaces? What if Dublin used the Liffey for other than just traffic?

These are just some of the questions that were asked by What If Dublin, a Twitter-based web platform, initiated by a collective of young architects, designers and urban researchers, which invites the public to participate in a debate on the actual urban questions of the city.

These questions and more were asked during St Patrick’s Festival Ireland as part of the ‪#‎ILoveMyCity‬ programme from 14 to 17 March. Five installations were strategically placed throughout the city centre. Passersby engaged with the steel benches, triggering their imagination and encouraging a re-thinking of the possibilities of public spaces.

The debate raged on twitter, there were over 330 tweets using the hashtag #WhatIfDublin look back on it HERE
