Reimagine…Loughrea: hosted conversation to take place as part of Culture Night

18.09.20

On Friday 18 September, as part of Culture Night 2020, join us for a hosted conversation between BothAnd, the architects behind a new architectural installation in The Walks, Loughrea and ecologist Dr. Janice Fuller. This event will be hosted by Frank Monahan. The conversation will be recorded as a podcast and will explore issues of landscape design, biodiversity loss, individual responsibility and architecture’s role as agency.

This event is held in correspondence with an architectural installation by BothAnd in The Walks, aiming to highlight the lack of diversity in Ireland’s landscape. From Friday 18 September – Sunday 4 October the public is invited to spend some time in The Walks area of Loughrea, contemplating our biodiversity.

This project is a commission by the Irish Architecture Foundation, as part of the Reimagine… programme, which brings together local communities, architects, designers and planners to develop projects which will enhance the local built environment of each of the towns. The IAF worked in collaboration with Galway 2020’s “Small Town, Big Ideas” programme, and this project was delivered in partnership with Galway County Council Architectural Conservation Office and the Loughrea The Walks Project Steering Group. Reimagine…is supported by the Creative Ireland Programme’s National Creativity Fund.
