Merlo Kelly, architect and author of a book entitled ‘An Introduction to the Architectural Heritage of Dublin North City’ will provide a walking tour of the Dublin 1 area. An architectural exploration of the north city, from its eighteenth century origins to the various twentieth century interventions. The walk will begin at the Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square, and follow a route via O’Connell Street and North Great George’s Street to Mountjoy Square, finishing at the Custom House. With the help of maps and archival images, the walk is intended to trace the various phases of urban development, and enrich an understanding of the city as we know it today.
