Thursday 29 July, 18.00-19.30: ‘On Curating’
About Momentum
Momentum is the title of a biannual programme at the Irish Architecture Foundation’s building, a vibrant centre for architecture in Dublin. The programme seeks to create a space, physically and introspectively, to document, contextualise and introduce to the public, the work of emerging architects and collectives, around whom exists a growing critical and curatorial consensus. It also advances the IAF’s ambition to create more opportunities for more architectural exhibitions and to enhance a culture for curating architecture in Ireland.
The intimate space of the gallery at the IAF base on Bachelor’s Walk allows the architect to test a theory, revisit an old idea afresh, or present a proposition that can enhance their practice beyond the exhibition. The IAF gallery is used as a stopping off point, a paused moment for reflection on the way to something significant.
In 2021 the Momentum architects chosen – Noreile Breen, t o b Architect and plattenbaustudio, are re-imagining the future of architecture practice, and their work demonstrates a high degree of sensitivity to context, to the environment and to the public. The exhibition will be supported by the beautiful publication Momentum designed by Peter Maybury.
