In this talk, Associate Director Alice Brownfield will discuss the practice’s approach to urbanism and housing with reference to award winning built schemes and a number of theoretical projects including “100 Mile City”: a radical reimagining of London’s periphery designed to re-densify suburbia with a street based, linear city a hundred miles long, 200 metres wide and 4 storeys high wrapped around london.

Peter Barber Architects won the Royal Academy Grand Award for Architecture in 2015 and have twice been UK Housing Architect of the year. In 2016, the practice’s Holmes Road Homeless Studios was the New London Architecture’s Overall Building of the Year and was one of the Guardian’s top 10 buildings worldwide for that year.
