Lecture: Landscape Character Assessment

Alison Harvey, Heritage Council Planning & Development Officer, will give an overview of existing and proposed Landscape Policy in Ireland, looking at the National Landscape Strategy and the need for landscape character assessment (LCA) as a participative tool in landscape management and planning. The SEA for the Off-Shore Renewable Energy Development Plan will be discussed.

Alison Harvey is an environmental planner with a background in economic development, specialising in collaborative planning and regeneration. Alison initiated and developed the All-Island Irish Walled Towns Network and set up the Heritage Council’s new National Village Design Statement Initiative.

The lecture will take place from 6.30pm – 7.30pm on Wednesday 20th June at The Heritage Council, Church Lane, Kilkenny
