Key principles that informed the architecture and design of The Central Bank’s new head office at North Wall Quay included collaboration and sharing by staff, addressing environmental challenges, achieving very high energy and sustainability goals and reflecting the distinct and civic nature of the organisation.

The heart of North Wall Quay is the atrium featuring collaboration spaces, and its design allows and actually encourages easy access throughout the building and the floors. The building has more than 250 internal meeting and collaboration spaces and public facilities include a Visitor Centre and a Archive. North Wall Quay was the first office building in Ireland to achieve the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) ‘Outstanding’ rating at design stage and it also has an A2 Energy rating.
