The first Annual General Meeting of the Irish branch of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings will be held on 17 May 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Irish Architectural Archives, 45 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

At the AGM, SPAB will elect a new committee for the coming year. Following the AGM , at 7.15pm, SPAB will host a special guest lecture on Vernacular Architecture by Christiaan Corlett, an archaeologist with the National Monuments Service, and author of numerous books, including ‘Wicklow’s Traditional Farmhouses’ and ‘Antiquities of West Mayo’. This is sure to be a fascinating talk, highlighting vernacular buildings and traditional crafts, which make up such a vital part of Ireland’s built heritage. If you’re unable to make it to the AGM, you are more than welcome to come along to the lecture and wine reception. There is a suggested donation of €10 for the evening.
