With the recent announcement of EU funding for the enhancement of Limerick’s urban centre, primarily the central spine of Newtown Pery, the Limerick Chapter of the Irish Georgian Society have organised a discussion on city centre living to kick start their Spring Lecture Series. The Chapter wishes to engage with policy makers and the public on design elements of the public realm and the need for these upgrades to be sensitive to the existing historic fabric.

Frank McDonald, former Environmental Editor of the Irish Times, journalist and author, will lead a discussion panel on the topic of ‘Re-Inhabiting Newtown Pery; the challenges and opportunities facing Georgian Limerick‘. He will be joined by Kieran Reeves, Senior Executive Planner with Limerick City and County Council and Mary Hughes, HRA Planning and the former president of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI).
