E2A is an architectural studio founded in 2001 by Piet Eckert and Wim Eckert in Zurich. Wim Eckert (born Zurich, 1969) studied Architecture at the ETH Zurich. He collaborated with OMA Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam (1996-1997) and worked as an independent architect from 1997 onwards, prior to founding E2A. From 2009 to 2011 he was a visiting Professor for Architecture and Sustainable Building (Bachelors and Masters Degrees) at HafenCity University, Hamburg.

Along with the teaching of architecture, the main focus of the visiting professorship was to develop a think-tank which encouraged research into sustainability vis-à-vis architecture, urban planning, the arts and engineering. Since 2014 he has been guest professor at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio.

This talk is organised in conjunction with the Irish Concrete Society.
