The Lives of Spaces in Belfast
The Lives of Spaces in Belfast
11th February - 27th March The Lives of Spaces will open in Belfast in February with an extensive public and education programme. The Ormeau Baths Gallery is partnering with PLACE architecture centre and The Lyric Theatre to deliver a diverse range of workshops and performances influenced by the exhibition. The Lives of Spaces was Ireland’s exhibition at the 11th International Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2008. Primarily using film and moving image, the nine pieces in The Lives of Spaces explore the central role of space in our society, how it frames and structures the patterns and practices of our collective life, from domestic to civic, from personal to public. The exhibition involves many new collaborations and experiments, which open up new ways of envisaging, designing and understanding space. Taken together, the nine pieces provide a spatial portrait of Irish architecture, and of Irish society.
